Based in the West Midlands, UK, The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company is a family owned and operated business with over 80 years of experience in the wheelbarrow industry.
Starting in the 1940's, Fred Thacker redesigned the centuries old wooden wheelbarrow by utilising his expertise in the sheet metal industry to construct an all steel wheelbarrow that was stronger, cheaper, and quicker to produce. This quickly became the industry standard, and was just the first of many innovations introduced by the Thacker family. With Freds grandsons, Simon and Jonathan, now at the helm, The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company has grown to become the UK's leading wheelbarrow supplier, and the only company still manufacturing in the UK.

Investment and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, with automation key to helping us achieve our success. Through automated press lines, robotic tube benders, robotic welding cells, and state of the art injection moulding and powder coating facilities, we have the capacity to produce over 3000 wheelbarrows every day. This ensures the highest quality and consistency across our product range, as well as future proofing our business for the years to come. 
The investments don't stop at manufacturing - in 2025 we completed the insatllation of over 950 solar panels on the roof of our factory, providing over 70% of our electricity needs from a sustainable source. This, combined with other ethical and environmental initiatives will help us acheive our goal of being a Nett Zero business by 2030.

Our product range offers solutions for all sectors within the wheelbarrow industry, such as - Construction, Garden and DIY, Agricultural, Industrial, and Equestrian. Available fully assembled, unassembled, and in Boxed format, with pan sizes upto 175L, and options for steel, polypropylene, and HDPE - as well as pneumatic, solid, and puncture proof wheel - we have the right wheelbarrow for any job.
